Asfaloth
Asfaloth in the New Line film
Glorfindel's Horse who helped him get Frodo to Rivendell. Asfaloth took Glorfindel from Rivendell to assist Aragorn on October 9, 3019. They rode along the Great East Rode until they happened upon three Nazgul on October 11. They misled them, and kept going. They met two more several hours later who were briskly tracking the Ring of Power. Glorfindel and Asfaloth beat the Nazgul and found Aragorn with Frodo, the Ring barer. Asfaloth rode Frodo to Rivendell with extreme speed while the others lagged behind. Glorfindel cursed the Nazgul and they were drowned in the Bruinen River near Rivendell. Asfaloth got Frodo to Rivendell and he was never mentioned again. In Peter Jackson's film trilogy of the Lord of the Rings, Asfaloth was switched to Arwen's horse.
