Baragund
Father of Morwen; member of Barahir's outlaw band. Baragund was born in the year 420 of the First Age. He was the son of Bregolas. Baragund was a descendant of Beor the Old. Baragund had two siblings: a brother named Belegund and a sister named Beleth. Baragund's daughter Morwen was born in 443.
Baragund fought in the Battle of Sudden Flame in 455. Baragund and a small company of survivors were led by Barahir to the shores of Tarn Aeliun,where they remained hidden for a time.
In 460, Morgoth provoked a member of the surviving company named Gorlim into telling him the whereabouts of Barahir's company. Morgoth attacked and killed nearly the entire company that same year. The only survivor was Beren, who was out on an errand at the time of the attack.

Names & Meanings
The meaning of the name Baragund is not precisely known, but it contains the Noldorin word bara meaning "fiery." The element gund may come from cund meaning "prince."
