Corsair in the New Line film
The Corsairs of Umbar were wicked men descended from Black Numenoreans, men from the south of Numenor. They lived in The City of the Corsairs in Umbar, a city along the coast of the Great Sea. They joined with Sauron, yet they became loyal only to themselves. Their housing was mainly on ships to sail in the Great Sea. The Corsairs's main enemies were Gondorians, who, teamed with the Haradrim, they would frequently attack. In 3019, the Corsairs attempted to conquer Gondor under the service of Sauron, who payed them. They failed, and were halted by Aragorn and his army of Dead. Thereafter, the Corsairs did not bother with wars.
