Guthwine
Guthwine in the New Line film
Eomer's sword, which he wielded during the War of the Ring. It was taken from him in 3019, when Grima Wormtongue banished him from Edoras. He eventually was freed of his banishment and returned to retrieve Guthwine. He placed it in the King Theoden's hand, who seemed to come alive again. Eomer fought alongside Aragorn, who wielded Anduril, during the Battle for Helm's Deep. Guthwine was stained with the black blood of the Uruk-Hai, but was cleaned and sharpened before it was used in the Battle of Pelennor Fields. Once there, Eomer raised Guthwine to the Corsairs, who turned out to have been Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli. He dropped his sword and reunited with his friends. Guthwine was used thereafter by Eomer, and was probably passed down to his son Elfwine.
