Haldan
Nephew of Haleth; second Lord of the House of Haleth. Haldan was born in year 366 of the First Age. Haldan was the son of Haldar, who was the son of Haldad. Haldan's grandfather Haldad was a leader of the Haladin, a civilization within the Edain. Haldan was born in Beleriend. Haldan's people lived in Thargelion, a region near the River Gelion and the Blue Mountains.
In 375, the Haladin were attacked by Orcs and Haldan's father Haldar and grandfather Haldad were both killed. Haldan's aunt Haleth took it upon herself to lead her people, and they became the House of Haleth. In 390, the Haladin were led by Haleth through Estolad and in turn to the Forest of Brethil.
After Haleth died in 420, Haldan succeeded her as Lord of the House of Haleth. Haldan died eleven years later in 451 and was then succeeded by his son Halmir as Lord of the House of Haleth.

Names & Meanings
Haldan means "leader" in the language of the Folk of Haleth, deriving from the element hal meaning "chief." In earlier versions of the legendarium, Haldan was named Hardan.
