Lossoth
Royal Lossoth Lady
The Lossoth were a tribe of people in the far north, inhabiting Forodwaith. They were the remnants of an old race of men called Forodwaith. They built igloos and had a large colony on the Cape of Forochel. The rest of Forodwaith remained uninhabited, due to the wolves that hunted there. The Lossoth wore heavy coats due to Forodwaith's cold, windy climate. They used skis and sleds often. In 1974 of the Third Age, King Arvedui of Arthedain followed by his people migrated through the Cape of Forochel while escaping the Witch-King. The Lossoth built them shelter and gave them food. In return, Arvedui gave them his Ring of Barahir. When the Dunedain set sail in the Sea, the climate killed them and the Lossoth gave the Ring of Barahir back to the Dunedain. It was thought that the Lossoth took some part in the War of the Ring. Maybe they came down from the North and were one of the hosts of men opposing Sauron in the intense Battle at the Black Gate. They did, it was thought, play a role in the War of Wrath, joining with the valar, Elves, Edain, Druedain, Easterlings, dwarves, and Ents against Morgoth.
