Magor
Grandfather of Hador; son of Malach. Magor was born in the year 341 of the First Age. He was the son of Malach and Zimrahin. Magor had an older sister named Adanel, who became wise-lady of the Marach. Magor was of the House of Marach. In 365, Magor had a son named Hathol who in turn fathered Hador.
Magor's father Malach had served Fingolfin, High King of the Noldor. However, Magor did not serve any Elves and he led his people south of Hithlum along the River Sirion. Magor's people settled in the foothills of the Ered Wethrin, the southernmost boundary of Hithlum.
Magor's date of death is not known. However, after his death, his grandson Hador entered the service of Fingolfin and he founded the House of Hador in Dor-lomin.

Names & Meanings
Magor is believed to mean "swordsman" in Sindarin. It can be derived from the element magol meaning "sword." Magor was also referenced as Dagorlind, which translates as "singer in battle" from Sindarin.
