Merry's Sword in the New Line film
Sword found by Merry Brandybuck in the Barrow-downs. It was probably an ancient token of the Dunedain, who used the sword to rebel the forces of the Witch-King of Angmar. Merry wielded the sword through the Battles at Moria and Amon Hen. He gave it to King Theoden of Rohan hope to become his esquire. Theoden accepted and gave him back his sword, which he wielded at Pelennor Fields. He stabbed the Witch-King of Angmar with his sword and Eowyn finished the evil being off. Merry's Sword was then destroyed, never to be wielded again, for the power of the witch-King was too great for it to stand.
