Ancient Ring symbolizing peace between Elves and men. The Ring of Barahir was a token of value. It was made in the Undying Lands. It did not have any special powers. The Ring of Barahir was medal and dpicted one snake devouring another. It was originally owned by Finrod. At the Battle of Sudden Flame in 455 of the First Age, Finrod gave the ring to Barahir and it was thus named the Ring of Barahir. After Barahir's death, Beren took the Ring to Thingol. Thingol's daughter Luthien married Beren and from that day on the two possessed the Ring of Barahir. It was given to those of Numenor. At the fall of Numenor, the ring was given to the Dunedain of Arnor. In 1975 of the Third Age, King Arvedui brought the Ring of Barahir to the Icebay of Forochel with him when escaping the Witch-King of Angmar. The Lossoth gave him food and shelter, and he gave them the Ring. But, after he died at sea and the line of Kings ended, the Chieftains of the Dunedain payed the Lossoth to give them back the Ring of Barahir. It was in 1976 that the Ring was given to Elrond of Rivedell. Aragorn got the Ring of Barahir in 2951, for he was Isildur's heir. He gave it to Arwen in 2980.
