Araphant
Fourteenth King of Arthedain; second to last king of the realm. Araphant was born in year 1864 of the Third Age. He was the son of King Araval. Araphant became king in year 1891 after the death of his father.
When Araphant had a son, Malbeth the Seer told him he must name the baby Arvedui, which means "last king." Araphant did so, but he did not know why the seer told him to do this.
As the years passed, the number of attacks on the Kingdom of Arthedain increased. Araphant's realm was increasingly troubled by the Witch-King of Angmar, who frequently attacked. Araphant made allies with King Ondoher of Gondor, but neither could ally the other in war because they had so few men and weaponry.
Araphant ruled until his own death in 1964. Arvendui succeeded his father as king.
