Déor
Seventh king of Rohan. Deor was born in the year 2644 of the Third Age. He was the son of Goldwine. Deor became king after his father's death in year 2699.
During Deor's rule, Dunlendings began attacking and raiding the outskirts of Rohan. They began in the Westfold, the western region of Rohan. Deor led an army of Rohirrim riders to the defense. They successfully drove the Dunlendings back to Dunland. However, despite the victory, Isengard was taken by a family of Dunlendings and Deor was not able to win it back.
Deor died in year 2718 at the age of 74 and was succeeded by his son Gram as king.

Names & Meanings
Déor is Old English for "wild animal," referencing a deer. It also means "brave."
