Walda
Walda was the twelfth king of Rohan. He was born in year 2780 of the Third Age. He was the son of King Brytta.
Before his kingship, Walda was part of his father's army. He had served when Orcs from the Misty Mountains attempted to invade Rohan, and it was believed that all of the orcs had been slain. Walda became king after his father's death in 2842. However, he ruled only nine years.
In 2851, Walda was riding with a company on horseback and they were attacked by mountain Orcs. As it turned out, some orcs had evaded death at the hands of Brytta's army. The mountain Orcs left none alive.
Walda was succeeded by his son Folca as king, and he avenged his father's death.
Notice: Walda's date of birth was recorded in Appendix A of the Lord of the Rings as 2851 of the Third Age, but in Appendix B it was incorrectly recorded as 2861.
