Wiseman Gamwich
Wiseman Gamwich was born in year 2800 of the Third Age. He was the son of, Hamfast of Gamwich, the earliest known ancestor of the Gamgee Family. Wiseman and his family moved to Tighfield, where Wiseman became a rope-maker. In 2846, Wiseman had a son named Hob Gammidge. Wiseman's fate is not known.
Names & Meanings
Wiseman may be related to the name Samwise, meaning "half wise." Wiseman's surname Gamwich can be derived from the Hobbitish Galabas meaning "game village" and wich from wick meaning "village."
