Aldor the Old
Third King of Rohan. Aldor was born in year 2544 of the Third Age. He was the son of King Brego. He had an older brother named Baldor.
Aldor's brother Baldor was very likely killed in the Paths of the Dead in 2569, likely by the Dead. In 2570, King Brego died and Aldor became king. He ruled from the golden hall of Meduseld in Edoras.
The population of Rohan and speakers of the Rohirric language rapidly increased during Aldor's reign. The Dunlendings east of the River Isen were driven into the hills of Dunland.
Aldor had three daughters before finally having his son and heir, Frea. Aldor died in 2645 at the age of 101. He ruled for 65 years, the longest of any King of Rohan.
