Baranor
Second son of Baran; grandson of Beor the Old. Baranor was born in the year 317 of the First Age. He was the son of Baran. Baranor had an older brother named Boron, who had been born in 314 of the First Age. Baranor had a son named Bereg, who was born in 340.
At the time of Baranor's birth, his grandfather Beor had recently led the people of the House of Beor across the Blue Mountains and into Beleriand. In 311, Beor went with Finrod to Nargothrond and Baranor's father Baran inherited lordship over the House of Beor. When Baran died in 380, he was succeeded by Boron because he was the first born son of Baran.
Baranor's date of death is not known.

The name Baranor is of Sindarin origin. The element baran means "brown" in the Sindarin language. Much later, there was a man of Gondor named Baranor.
