Bereg
Descendant of Beor the Old. Bereg was born in the year 340 of the First Age. He was the son of Baranor and the grandson of Baran, son of Beor the Old. Bereg was therefore the great-grandson of Beor the Old.
Bereg lived in the region of Estolad in Beleriand. He and others became unhappy with the troubles their people had living in Beleriand. Though Beor had originally led the people of the House of Beor into Beleriand to escape the evil spread by Morgoth, the people of Beor found themselves closer to Morgoth's fortress of Angband and in the middle of a war between Morgoth and the Elves. A meeting was held to decide what to do about this. Many believed that they should remain in Beleriand and help the Elves fight Morgoth. But Bereg believed that the lives of mortal men were short enough, and in 365 he led one thousand of the people of the House of Beor to venture out of Beleriand.
Bereg and his followers journeyed over the Blue Mountains and into Eriador, but their ultimate fate is not known.
