Belecthor II
Belecthor II was the twenty-first ruling-Steward of Gondor born in year 2752 of the Third Age. He was the son of Beregond. Belecthor II became Steward in 2811, when his father died. Belecthor had a son named Thorondir. Belecthor ruled until his death in 2872. When he died, the White Tree of Gondor died with him. Thorondir became Steward.
Names & Meanings
Belecthor is thought to be the Quenya word for "mighty eagle" or "eagle of might" from beleg, which means "might," and thor which means "eagles." There was a earlier Steward named Belecthor I.
