Dior
Ninth ruling-Steward of Gondor. Dior was born in the year 2328 of the Third Age as the son of the Steward Barahir. Dior became steward in year 2412 after the death of his father. Dior died at the age of one-hundred seven in 2435. He had no children, so he was succeeded by his sister Rian's son Denethor I.
Names & Meanings
The name Dior may mean "successor" in Doriathrin, the language of Doriath in the First Age. Dior is derived from the Primitive Quendian ndeuro, meaning "follower" or "successor." Dior was also the name of a hero of the First Age.
