Dúnhere
Chieftain of Harrowdale during the War of the Ring. Dunhere was a brave war captain who fought in both the First Battle of the Fords of Isen and the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Harrowdale, the area led by Dunhere, was a Rohirrim region located near the Paths of the Dead.
Dunhere was a nephew of Erkenbrand. On February 25, 3019 of the Third Age, he fought in the First Battle of the Fords of Isen in a defense army led by Grimbold. Dunhere's skill proved essential during the battle despite the Rohirrim loss.
Instead of fighting in the Battle of Helm's Deep, Dunhere was sent back to Harrowdale to gather his people in preparation for a full muster of the Rohirrim. Several days later, King Theoden arrived at Dunharrow where the full muster took place.
The Rohirrim rode to Minas Tirith to aid Gondor in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields against the forces of Sauron. On March 15, Dunhere was killed in battle. His name was remembered in the Song of the Mounds of Mundburg.
