Éomund
Eomund was an Eotheod captain of high-rank. Eomund served under Eorl the Young during the Battle of the Field of Celebrant.
In year 2510 of the Third Age, Eomund rode to war with Eorl the Young to aid Gondor in the Battle of the Field of Celebrant. This battle was one that was fought between the people of Gondor and the Balchoth, a hostile and barbaric group of Easterlings. Together, Gondor and the Eotheod achieved victory, and Cirion the Steward of Gondor granted Eorl with the land of Rohan.
Eomund accompanied Eorl to visit the new land. He witnessed to Oath of Eorl and later helped to organize the newly born nation.

Names & Meanings
The name Éomund is an Old English phrase. It is composed of eoh, meaning "war-horse" and mund meaning "protector." There was also a later captain of Rohan named Eomund.
