Fastred, Rider of Rohan
Rider of Rohan during the War of the Ring. Fastred served King Theoden of Rohan. He fought in Eomer's company of riders.
On March 15, 3019 of the Third Age, Fastred rode to Gondor where he fought and died in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Fastred was buried in Minas Tirith and his name was remembered in the Song of the Mounds of Mundburg.

The name Fastred is Old English for "fast-rede," possibly hinting that Fastred was a talented warrior. There was also an earlier man of Rohan named Fastred.
