Hallas
Thirteenth ruling-Steward of Gondor. Hallas was born in year 2480 of the Third Age. He was the son of Cirion.
Hallas was given rule of Minas Tirith in 2510 because his father went to war to fight hostile men from Rhun called the Balchoth. His father never returned to the stewardship.
Hallas witnessed his fayher granting the land of Calenardhon, later known as Rohan, to the Eotheod leader Eorl the Young. Cirion died in 2567. Hallas continued to rule over Gondor until his death in 2605. Upon his death, Hallas was succeeded as Steward by his son Hurin II.

Names & Meanings
The meaning of the name Hallas is uncertain. It most likely is composed of the elements hall, which means "exalted" or it could come from halla meaning "tall." The last component may come from las, translating as "leaf."
