Isengrim Took II
Born in 2620 of the Third Age, Isengrim II became the twenty-second Thain of the Shire. Isengrim's parents' names are not known. Isengrim II became Thain after his unknown father's death in 2683. Isengrim II built the Great Smials, where many Tooks came to live. A change in the Shire Reckoning called the Shire-reform also happened during Isengrim II's reign. Isengrim II had a son, Isumbras Took III, born in 2666. In 2722, Isengrim II died and his son Isumbras III became Thain.
Notice: In the Prologue of The Lord of the Rings, Isengrim II is incorrectly given as the father of Bandobras Took (The Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring, page 11). However, in the geneological table given in Appendix C for the Took family, Isengrim's son is correctly given as Isumbras III, father of Bandobras.
