Lóni
Dwarf of the Lonely Mountain who accompanied Balin in an attempted reclamation of Moria. Loni joined Balin's expedition, and they arrived in Moria in 2989 of the Third Age. In 2994, the Balrog awoke and killed all Dwarves in Moria. Loni died alongside Nali and Frar near the Bridege of Khazad-dum. Ori described their deaths in the Book of Mazarbul, which was recovered and read from by the Fellowship in 3019.
Names & Meanings
Lóni is the name of a dwarf in the Old Norse poem Voluspa. The name translates to English as "fighter."
