Ornendil
Eldest son and heir to King Eldacar of Gondor. Ornendil was born sometime prior to the year 1330 of the Third Age, as that was the date of birth of his younger brother Aldamir. Ornendil was born in Osgiliath to live with his half-Gondorian and half-Northman father.
Eldacar's mixed heritage caused controversy in Gondor, and a rebel group arose. The rebels were led by a cruel man known as Castamir, who was distantly related to the kings of Gondor. The rebels started a civil war in Gondor known as Kin-strife.
In year 1437 of the Third Age, Castamir and his rebel armies besieged Osgiliath. Though Eldacar himself was able to escape to Rhovanion with Aldamir, Ornendil was put to death by Castamir. He was at least 107 at the time of his death, a young age for a descendant of Numenor.
Ornendil's death was avenged ten years later when Eldacar returned to Gondor and killed Castamir, ultimately reclaiming the throne.
