Aldamir
Aldamir was the twenty-third King of Gondor. He was born in year 1330 of the Third Age. His father was King Eldacar and his grandparents were King Valacar and a northwoman named Vidumavi. Aldamir had a brother named Ornendil who was killed by the forces of Castamir in 1437, during the civil war of Kin-Strife. Therefore, when Eldacar died in 1490, Aldamir was crowned King.
Aldamir's reign lasted until 1540, when the men of Harad joined with the Corsairs of Umbar and the two forces attacked Gondor. Aldamir was killed during the battle. He had had a son named Vinyarion in 1391 who became king. Vinyarion won victory over the Haradrim and Corsairs and called himself Hyarmendacil II.

Names & Meanings
Aldamir is derived from the Quenya words alda meaning "tree" and mir coming from mîrë meaning "jewel."
