Snaga, Uruk-Hai of Isengard
Jed Brophy as Snaga in the New Line film
Snaga was an Uruk from Isengard. He was a scout in the company of Ugluk. Ugluk used the name Snaga to address one of his scouts who had seen Riders of Rohan in the distance. In the early hours of February 29, 3019 of the Third Age, the Rohirrim attacked the Orcs and Uruk-Hai and all of them were killed. The circumstances of Snaga's death are not known, but it is known that he was killed by the Rohirrim.
Names & Meanings
Snaga is the Black Speech word for "slave." It is one of the few words known in Black Speech, which was the language of Mordor. It is possible that Snaga was a title rather than an actual name, for there was an Orc of Mordor also called Snaga.
