Celebrían
Wife of Elrond; mother of Arwen; daughter of Galadriel and Celeborn. Celebrian was born in either the Second Age or the very early Third Age, but her exact birthdate is unknown. She was the daughter of Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel of Lothlorien.
Celebrian married Lord Elrond of Rivendell in year 109 of the Third Age. In 130, Celebrian bore her husband twin sons whom she and her husband named Elladan and Elrohir. In 241, Celebrian had a daughter named Arwen.
In 2509, Celebrian was traveling over the Misty Mountains via the Redhorn Gate to visit her parents in Lothlorien when she was attacked and captured by Orcs. She was tortured and wounded, but her sons rescued her before she was killed. Celebrian's physical wounds were healed by Elrond when she returned to Rivendell, but she had been emotionally hurt and she decided to go to the Undying Lands in the West.
In 2510, Celebrian was instructed by Elrond to go to the Undying Lands, never to return to Middle-Earth. Celebrian's sons hunted Orcs for many years to avenge their mother's torture. In 3021 of the Third Age, Elrond traveled over the Sea and he was presumably reunited with his wife.
Notice: Celebrian and Elrond's marriage was given in the first edition of The Lord of the Rings as 100 of the Third Age, but this date was updated in the newer versions. In "The History of Galadriel and Celeborn" in The Unfinished Tales, it says that Celebrian had a brother named Amroth, and that she and her brother were taken to live with their parents in Lothlorien circa 1400 of the Second Age. It is also said that in 1701 of the Second Age, Elrond visited Lothlorien and fell in love with Celebrian then. After that, Galadriel and Celeborn are said to have taken their children to live with them in Belfalas.
