Duinhir
Decipher Card of Duinhir
Ranger of Gondor and lord of the Blackroot Vale. Duinhir was a tall man from Blackroot. He was the father of Derufin and Duilin.
On March 9, 3019 of the Third Age, during the War of the Ring, Duinhir led five-hundred archers and rangers to Minas Tirith with his sons to strengthen the defense. This army fought in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields alongside Minas Tirith on March 15. Both Derufin and Duilin were trampled by Oliphaunts, but Duinhir's fate is unknown. It is possible that he was slain in the war, or that he survived and returned to the Blackroot Vale.

The name Duinhir translates as "river lord." It can be derived from duin meaning "river" and hîr meaning "lord."
