Faramir Took I
Thain of the Shire; son of Pippin Took. Faramir Took was born in year 9 of the Fourth Age. He was the son of Pippin and Diamond Took. Faramir Took married Goldilocks Gamgee in 42 of the Fourth Age. Pippin left for Gondor in year 63 of the Fourth Age, and Faramir became Thain of the Shire.
Names & Meanings
Faramir Took was named after Faramir of Gondor, whose name means "sufficient jewel." It is derived from the element phar meaning "suffice" and the element mirmeaning "jewel."
