Halfast (Hal) Gamgee
Nephew of Hamfast "Gaffer" Gamgee; cousin of Sam Gamgee. Halfast Gamgee was born in 2972 of the Third Age. Halfast was the son of Halfred, the brother of Hamfast. Halfast was simply called "Hal."
Occasionally, Hal would hunt for food in the North Moors of the Shire. One day, Hal saw what he called a "tree-man" in the North Moors. This tree-man could have been a Huorn, an Ent, or and Entwife. During Sam's discussion with Ted Sandyman in 3001 of the Third Age, he mentioned this happening. Ted referred to this as "child stories."
