Isumbras Took IV
Born in 2838 of the Third Age, Isumbras IV became the twenty-eighth Thain of the Shire. He was the son of Thain Gerontius Took and Adamanta Chubb Took. Isumbras was the third of eleven children. Isumbras had two older siblings: Isengrim III and Hildigard; as well as eight younger siblnigs: Hildigrim, Isembold, Hildifons, Isembard, Hildibrand, Belladonna (mother of Bilbo Baggins), Donnamira, Mirabella, and Isengar.
Isujmbras IV's older brother Isengrim was named Thain after his father's death in 2920. Since Gerontius was very old when he died, and Isengrim was already eighty-eight, Isengrim only reigned ten years before his death in 2930. Isumbras inherited the title of Thain after Isengrim's death. Isumbras IV was the twenty-eighth Thain. He had a son named Fortinbras II. Isumbras IV died in 2939, after only having served nine years. Fortinbras II succeeded his father as Thain.
