Names & Meanings
Meldis's given name Zimrahin is in the language of the people of Marach, but it appears to contain the Adunaic word zimra meaning "jewel." The name Meldis is Sindarin for "dear wife" from mel meaning "dear" and dîs meaning "wife." Zimrahin adopted the name Meldis when she married Malach Aradan, who had spent fourteen years serving the Sindarin Elves of Hithlum.
