Malach
Eldest son of Marach. Malach was born in year 307 of the First Age. He had a younger brother named Imlach. Like his father, Malach was an ancestor of the people of the House of Hador.
In 310, Malach followed his father's company of early Edain into Beleriand. The Edain were welcomed in Beleriand by the Elves.
In 322, Malach went into the service of Fingolfin, the High King of the Noldor. Many young men of the Edain entered Fingolfin's service to keep an alliance between Elves and men. Malach spent fourteen years with the Elves, and he learned to speak Sindarin. The Elves renamed him Aradan, the Sindarin word for "noble man."
Malach married Zimrahin in 337, and she took up the Sindarin name Meldis. Malach and Meldis had two chidlren whom they named Adanel and Magor.
In 376, Malach's father Marach died and Malach became the leader of the House of Marach. Malach worked to move his people westward, though some remained in Hithlum. Others settled in the vales of the Ered Wethrin to the west.
Malach died in 398. He was succeeded as leader of the people of Marach by his son Magor.
Notice: In an earlier version of the legendarium, Hador led the third house of the Edain across the Ered Luin into Beleriand. However, Tolkien changed this so Hador did not live until many years later.
