Siriondil
Nobleman of Gondor. Siriondil was the son of Calimmacil, who was the son of Arciryas, second son of King Telumehtar Umbardacil of Gondor. This means that Siriondil's great-grandfather was a king, making Siriondil of royal blood.
Siriondil fathered a son named Earnil II in year 1883 of the Third Age. Earnil II was crowned king of Gondor in 1945 because King Ondoher and all of his heirs were killed in battle.
Siriondil died sometime before 1944 when the battle against the Wainriders took place.

Names & Meanings
Siriondil means "friend of the Great River." It is of both Quenya and Sindarin origin. The element ndil means "devoted to" in Quenya. The Sirion was a river in Beleriand which meant "Great River" in Sindarin. This name also has Quenya roots. There was also a king of Gondor named Siriondil.
