Argonui
Thirteenth Chieftain of the Dunedain; great-grandfather of Aragorn. Argonui was born in the year 2757 of the Third Age. He was the son of Chieftain Arathorn I. Argonui lived with Elrond in Rivendell until his father died in year 2848, and Argonui inherited the rule of the Dunedain.
In 2911, the Fell Winter struck the northern hemisphere of Middle-Earth and many people died. There was a shortage of food and resources due to the Fell Winter. There was also so much snow that in the spring the city of Tharbad was ruined by the melting ice.
Argonui ruled until his death in year 2912. He was then succeeded by his son Arador.

Names & Meanings
The name Argonui may be Sindarin for "kingly valor," derived from the elements ar from aran meaning "king" and gon meaning "valor."
