Hûrin I
Hurin I was the fifth ruling-Steward of Gondor. He was born in the year 2124 of the Third Age. He was the son of the Steward Belegorn. Hurin I became Steward at his father's death in 2204. During Hurin I's reign, the Watchful Peace continued. Hurin I died in 2244 after having ruled for forty years. He was succeeded by his son Turin I as Steward.
Names & Meanings
Hûrin can be derived from the elements hûr meaning "vigor" and inn meaning "inner thought/heart." Hurin shared his name with a legendary Edain of the First Age, as well as Hurin of Emyn Arnen, Hurin of the Keys, and Hurin II of Gondor.
