Húrin of Emyn Arnen
First Steward of Gondor. Hurin of Emyn Arnen was the steward to King Minardil, King Telemnar, and King Tarondor. He was a direct descendant of the noblemen of Numenor. Hurin acted as a great help during the days of the Great Plague in the 1630s of the Third Age.
All non-ruling Stewards were descended from Hurin of Emyn Arnen. He founded the Gondorian Houses of Hurin. Hurin's date of death is not known.

Names & Meanings
Hurin can be derived from the elements hûr meaning "vigor" and inn meaning "inner thought/heart." He was called Of Emyn Arnen because that was the Gondorian region from which he came. Hurin shared his name with a legendary Edain of the First Age, as well as Hurin of the Keys, and Hurin I & II of Gondor.
