Théodwyn
Daughter of King Thengel of Rohan. Theodwyn was born in Gondor in the year 2963 of the Third Age. Her mother was Morwen of Lossarnach, and she had two older sisters as well as an older brother named Theoden who adored her.
In 2989, Theodwyn married Eomund of the Eastfold. They moved to the town of Aldburg in the Eastfold, where her husband acted as chief Marshal of the Mark in charge of Rohan's eastern defenses. Theodwyn bore two children: Eomer born in 2991, and Eowyn born in 2995. Both of Theodwyn's children would play key roles in the events of the War of the Ring that were to come.
In 3002, Eomund was killed in an Orc pursuit in the Emyn Muil. Theodwyn died of grief soon after. Her young children were sent to live with her brother Theoden at Edoras.

Names & Meanings
The name Théodwyn is Old English for "nation's joy" from ðeod meaning "nation" and wynn "joy."
