Arahad I
Arahad I was seventh Chieftain of the Dunedain born in year 2365 of the Third Age. He was the son of Chieftain Araglas.
Arahad I lived in Rivendell with Elrond until his father's death in 2455. This was when Arahad I became Chieftain of the Dunedain. He ruled until his own death in year 2523. Arahad's son Aragost succeeded his father as Chieftain of the Dunedain.

Names & Meanings
The meaning of the name Arahad is unknown. The element ara means "royal" in Sindarin, and had may mean "hurl." Arahad I was the first Chieftain by that name; there was a later Chieftain named Arahad II.
