Berylla Boffin Baggins
Earliest female Baggins known; great-grandmother of Bilbo Baggins. Berylla Boffin was born in the year 2772 of the Third Age. She was the daughter of Buffo Boffin and Ivy Goodenough. Berylla was the youngest child Buffo Boffin. She had three older brothers named Bosco (born 2767), Basso (born 2769), and Briffo (born 2770).
Berylla married Balbo Baggins, who was the first known Baggins. Berylla and Balbo had five children: Mungo, Pansy, Ponto, Largo, and Lily. From these children came numerous descendants.
Berylla's son Mungo was the grandfather of Bilbo Baggins, making Berylla Bilbo's great-grandmother and Frodo's great-great- grandmother. Berylla's son Ponto was the great-great-grandfather of Merry Brandybuck and Pippin Took, making Berylla their great-great-great-grandmother.
