Brego
Second king of Rohan; son of Eorl the Young. Brego was born in year 2512 of the Third Age. Brego became king after his father was killed by an army of Easterlings who attacked the Wold in 2545.
One of Brego's first acts as king was to remove any enemies from the lands, which included Easterlings, Orcs, Dunlendings, and other spies of Sauron. Brego was successful, and ultimately Rohan defeated its invaders.
Brego rebuilt the Golden Hall of Meduseld and made it his home and a grand one at that. Edoras was now the capital of Rohan, and the kings would ever dwell there. In time, Brego had three sons: Baldor, Aldor, and Eofor.
In 2569, Brego led his eldest son Baldor on a quest to explore the area near the Paths of the Dead. An old man warned that this area was open only to the Dead, and not the living. It is not known whether the old man was dead himself.
Despite this harsh warning, Baldor snuck into the Paths of the Dead, never to be seen again.
In 2570, Brego himself died at the young age of 58, potentially of a broken heart after the disappearance of his son. Aldor, Brego's second son succeeded his father as king.
