Gróin
Born in 2671 of the Third Age as the son of Farin, Groin was the grandfather of Gimli. Groin had a brother named Fundin, who became the father of Balin and Dwalin. Groin had two sons: Oin (II) (born in 2774) and Gloin (II) (born in 2783). Both of Groin's sons were a part of the quest of Erebor, a company of Dwarves who reclaimed the Lonely Mountain from the dragon Smaug. Groin died in 2923.
