Nob
Hobbit-servant at the Prancing Pony in Bree. Nob was the servant of Barliman Butterbur. His duties varied from serving guests to tending to the needs of horses. Nob was friendly with another Hobbit-servant named Bob, who also served Barliman Butterbur.
In October of 3018, the Hobbits Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin were travelling through Bree to Rivendell with great urgency. They were being hunted by Nazgul. One night, Merry tripped and Nob helped him up. If it had not been for Nob, Merry would have likely been killed by two Nazgul who were lurking nearby.
When the Hobbits returned to Bree after the War of the Ring, Nob was still employed at the Prancing Pony.
