Carl (Nibs) Cotton
Son of Tolman Cotton; brother of Rosie Cotton Gamgee; brother-in-law of Sam Gamgee. Carl Cotton was born in 2989 of the Third Age. He was the son of Farmer Tolman and Lily Cotton. Carl had four older siblings: Tom (full named Tolman), Rosie (real name Rose), Jolly (ful name Wilcome), and Nick (full name Bowman). Carl was mostly called his nickname, Nibs. Nibs and his family lived in Bywater in the Shire.
Nibs and his siblings often swam with Sam in the Bywater Pool. When Sam returned from his quest to destroy the One Ring in Mordor, Nibs did not recognize him and challenged him to a pitchfork fight. Nibs was only trying to protect his family.
Nibs and his brothers fought with Sam the next day in the Battle of Bywater. Hobbits drove the Ruffian invaders out of the Shire.
