Argeleb II
Born in the year 1473 of the Third Age, Argeleb II became the tenth king of Arthedain. Argeleb II was the son of King Araphor. Argeleb II became king in year 1589 following the death of his father. As king of Arthedain, Argeleb ruled from Fornost in the North Downs.
In 1601, Argeleb II allowed the Hobbits settle in the Shire. Marcho and Blanco led a large company of Hobbits to found the Shire between the Brandywine River and the Far Downs. The Hobbits were greatful to the king, and from these Hobbits came many generations of Hobbits that would live in the Shire for centuries to come.
In 1636, the Great Plague came north and devastated many men and Hobbit settlements in Arnor and Eriador. However, as it spread thinly across Arthedain, the plague weakened and eventually died off. With the distraction of the plague, the Witch-King sent evil spirits known as Barrow-wights to haunt the Barrow-downs.
In 1670, King Argeleb II died and was succeeded by his son Arvegil as king.
