Sandyman the Miller
Regular at the Ivy Bush Inn; owner of the Old Mill in Hobbiton. Sandyman the Miller was the father of Ted Sandyman. Sandyman's first name is not known.
Sandyman the Miller was friendly with several other regulars at the Ivy Bush, such as Old Noakes, Daddy Twofoot, and Hamfast "Gaffer" Gamgee. On the night of September 22, 3001 of the Third Age, Mr. Sandyman was gossiping with several Hobbits at the Ivy Bush. Sandyman said that Frodo Baggins's parents drowned because Primula pushed her husband off the boat, but Drogo held on to her hand. The Old Gaffer payed no attention to this guess, deeming it meaningless gossip. Gaffer thought Mr. Sandyman was a fool.
When the Ruffians overtook the Shire in 3019 of the Third Age, Mr. Sandyman's Old Mill was burnt by the Ruffians and replaced with a New Mill used for industrial purposes.
Sandyman's date of death is not known.
